Who We Are
Chris McKenzie
President & Founder
Chris McKenzie is the President and Founder of DeafBridge. Born and raised in Texas, he has been Deaf since birth. He met his wife, Stacey, while attending Texas Tech University, and they now have four beautiful daughters. Chris then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2008 to 2010, majoring in International Church Planting. He served Deaf communities in the United States and Texas for several years before beginning full-time cross-culture work among the Deaf in 2011, serving Deaf communities in India and Ukraine. In 2016 Chris joined Deaf Bible Society first as the Field Coordinator for Eurasia and then as the Director of Translation Acceleration.
Wanting to return to his passion for the vital, hands-on work among international Deaf communities, Chris left the work of Bible translation and started DeafBridge. Chris’s intense passion for serving others through practical means, his unwavering commitment to teaching and training new leaders, and his rich experience living and serving internationally drive him to carry out the vision of DeafBridge and empower Deaf leaders to reach their communities through practical service and outreach.
